Bands prepare for Blues Festival with jamming session

From the Hull Daily Mail Fri 6th May 2011

ORGANISERS of the first Beverley Blues Festival are having a small-scale warm-up this weekend.

The festival is themed around legendary blues singer Robert Johnson.

This Sunday would have been Johnson's 100th birthday.

To make the event special, musicians linked to the festival are planning a jamming session featuring his songs.

It will be part of the regular Sunday afternoon acoustic music session held at the Sun Inn in Flemingate starting at about 4pm.

The Beverley Blues Festival committee will be there to answer any questions regarding the upcoming festival, which will be raising money for the Nordoff Robbins music therapy charity.

The organisation uses music to help people with disabilities.

Bands to have already pledged their support for the Blues Festival from October 21 to October 23 include Stikkyfingers, the Alligators, the Steve Fulsham Band and the Nicol Blues Band.
